In 1991, I bought an Album called 'Out of Time' by a band hailing
from Georgia, USA. I listened to it constantly and loved everything
about it, but that was about as far as it went.

In 1992 a follow up album, 'Automatic for the People', was released,
this proved to be the defining album of my childhood. Every song was good,
this forced me to go back and listen to all the music this band had
created over the previous 12 years.
Follow up albums, while in my mind not as effective as Automatic, proved
to be awesome, providing many classic hits.

Now, 31 years after formation, REM have announced they are calling
it a day. I can't put my finger on the exact feelings I have right now,
but I guess the closest word I can use to sum it up, is Sadness.
But for some reason, that word doesn't do it justice.
